HoĂ ng Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) provided the bump as title-aspirant Quang Nam suffered their second defeat of the season on the 11th matchday of the V.League 1 at the Pleiku Stadium.
Former champions HAGL, who has been struggling at the wrong end of the league table, picked up only their fourth win in 11 matches.
Following a first half deadlock, Chau Ng?c Quang nailed the only goal of the game six minutes into the second half to hand Quang Nam their second defeat of the season.
The win moved HAGL to tenth at the V-League table while Quang Nam remained on third behind Hanoi and Thanh Hoa.
Elsewhere, Hai Phong drew Song Lam Nghe An 1-1 at the L?ch Tray Stadium while Khanh Haa edged Da Nang 1-0 as BĂŹnh Duong overcame HCM City 1-0.
Sai Gon crushed Dong Tam Long An 4-0.
