Hai Phong FC are still in firm control of the V-League 2016 despite their 1-1 draw this week against Saigon FC.
Hai Phong’s Errol Anthony Stevens had given the home team a reason to celebrate with the lead before it was cancelled out by Saigon’s Tran Huu Thang just five minutes later.
But the two points loss did not adversely affect Hai Phong’s overall position in the standings as they still have a seven-point advantage (29 points) over second-placed FLC Thanh Hoa (22 points).
Thanh Hoa had beaten Dong Tam Long An 2-1.
Elsewhere, Hanoi T&T blasted Hoang Anh Gia Lai 3-0 as Quang Ninh Coal beat defending champions Becamex Binh Duong 2-1 at the Cam Pha Stadium.
SHB Da Nang edged Can Tho 2-1 while Sanna Khanh Hoa fought back to draw 2-2 against former champions Song Lam Nghe An.
