Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, the President of the FA of Malaysia (FAM) has proposed the setting up of a committee to contribute ideas on FAM policies and road map.
Tengku Abdullah said the committee should be independent, experienced and have vast knowledge in management, technical and administrative aspects in football and not be associated with any state associations or clubs.
“The committee must function as a consultative body to study, evaluate or review issues and advise the FAM Executive Committee, especially policy matters.
“The committee’s advise and recommendations will be studied during the Executive Committee meeting before implementation,” he said in his speech at the FAM’s 51st Congress, here Thursday.
Tengku Abdullah said the setting up of the committee will be a step in the right direction to set the path for the future of football in the country and the success aspired by football fans in the country.
He said the committee would be made of experienced officials, former players and members of the media who have vast knowledge in football.
“The scope of the (committee) is not limited, no restriction and if required can offer their expertise in aspects of management,” he said.
Tengku Abdullah said the committee would be formed after discussing the proposal in detail at the next FAM Executive Committee meeting. – BERNAMA
