Iran’s national deaf Futsal team has made the cut to the knockout stage of the World Deaf Futsal Championship.
Dr. Alireza Abbasi, a well-known figure in Futsal, said: “In the framework of the World Deaf Futsal Championship, which is being held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Iran’s national deaf Futsal team advanced to the elimination round by defeating Tobago and drawing against Brazil.
This tournament is being held with the participation of 16 teams from all over the world, with the Iranian national Futsal team placed in Group A.
Iran made the knockout stage of the tournament as group winners where they will take on the Czech national Futsal team in the Round of 16.
Mohammad Abbasi, the coach of the national team, said about the match against Brazil: “It was a good match, the host team was a good team.
“We were the best team in the entire game and we were ahead 4-2, but we conceded two late goals. We deserved to win.”
