Leong Jun Hao is ‘just one more step tomorrow’ to landing his inaugural crown of the BERGAMOT KL Masters Malaysia Super 100 2023 after storming into the final of the men’s singles at the Titiwangsa Stadium.

In the semifinals earlier today, the No. 2 seed Jun Hao showed his quality to overcome the challenge of Choi Ji-hoon from South Korea 21-17, 21-16 in 38 minutes.

“It is one more step tomorrow and I’m really looking forward to playing in the final where I hope that I can win the title,” said the 24-year-old.

“I have to be confident (for the final) but I also have to plan and strategise with my coach for the game. It is not over yet.”

In the final tomorrow, it will be a clash of the tournament’s top two ranking players in the men’s singles with Jun Hao set to take on the tournament’s top seed Lee Chia-Hao from Chinese Taipei.

In the other semifinal Chia-Hao, who was the first player from Chinese Taipei to be ranked world junior No. 1, was hard-pressed by a determined Aidil Sholeh Ali Sadikin from Malaysia.

The 23-year-old from Selangor lost the first set 15-21 before Chia-Hao was made to work hard to win the second set 24-22 to book his spot in the final to face Jun Hao.
