* SEA Games debutant wins women’s uneven bar
* Farah Ann takes the bronze
Gymnast Tan Eng Yueh was lost for words when she won the gold women’s uneven bars in her very first SEA Games but the Bishan Sports Hall will certainly hold fond memories for the 19-year-old.
Somewhat dazed with winning the gold the Malaysian lass said: “I just can’t describe how I feel…but I am very happy to have won. It does not matter if I won as long as it is for the country.
“I owe my success to my coaches and other officials, not forgetting my parents for all the encouragement. Also to my mentor Farah Ann…she is always there giving all the encouragement.”
Eng Yueh totalled 12.766 points for her gold efforts while Ava Lorein Verdeflor of the Philiipines with 12.366 points took the silver – ahead of Farah Ann Abdul Hadi (12.200 points).
