Azwann Ismail gave Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) their first-ever Malaysia Futsal Cup when he scored the late winner to give the Southern Tigers a 3-2 win over Selangor FC in the final that was played at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

JDT, who were the Malaysia Premier Futsal League champions this year, started off well when Bruno Taffy slammed home the lead after just four minutes.

But Selangor’s persistence paid off in the 17th minute when Syahir Iqbal struck the equaliser for both teams to be back on level terms at the break.

Selangor then took the lead for the first time in the game through  Aidil Shahril Rosli’s 25th minute strike.

However, JDT were not about to be denied the double when Firdaus Ambiah grabbed the 27th minute equaliser before Azwann fired in the winner five minutes later.
