There is no stopping four-time Malaysian Super League champions Johor Darul Takzim as they gunned down Selangor 2-0 in Wednesday’s Super League match at the Larkin Stadium in Johor Bahru.

With the full points garnered at home the Southern Tigers moved four points clear at the top of the table with 21 points after eight matches – ahead of second-placed Pahang on 17 points after their 3-1 win over Terengganu in Kuala Terengganu on Tuesday.

JDT, however, had to wait for the second-half to get into scoring act and this came on the hour mark when Ahmad Hazwan Bakri got his name into the scoresheet by netting a cross from Gonzalo Cabrera.

Ten minutes later it was 2-0 for JDT – this time international Nazmi Faiz Mansor made it count from a Safawi Rasid cross on the left.

At the Hang Jebat Stadium in Melaka a 10-man Melaka United fell to a 2-1 defeat to Perak after defender Faizal Muhammad was red carded for rough play.

Both goals for Perak were scored by Wender Luiz. His first came from the penalty spot after Faizal was hauled up in the 45th minute. Luiz completed his brace in the 56th minute before Melaka pulled one back through a header by Yahor Zubovic on 80 minutes.
