Selangor Open 2015 featuring the Hockey 5s format proved to be a success with a total of 66 team battling out for honors over the weekend in four categories.
Hockey 5′ is the explosive short format for field hockey played on a half-regulation size hockey pitch and Selangor Hockey is the first state hockey association to organize it.
In the Men’s category, the hard working JLJ Army team edged Dolphins and won the match with a solitary goal scored by Mohd Shafiq Yacob.
The women’s category SSTMI beat SUKMA KL ladies team to emerge as champions.
In the Schools Girls Category, both Bandar Penawar Based Sports Schools qualified to the finals with SSTMI Red beating SSTMI Blue 2-0 to clinch the title.
The Boys Category was won by STAR Klang.

After the Selangor Open, the competition committee plans to organize the Selangor League and also introduce an indoor hockey league to help promote the sport.
