National shooter Jonathan Wong said he would not rest on his laurels or be complacent after qualifying for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in August.
The 24-year-old shooter said the ticket to the Olympic Games was the best start for his career to become one of the world’s best shooters.
“I want to work harder and better. I also have to challenge myself to become one of the best shooters in the world in the future. Qualifying for the Olympics is a dream come true for me, but this is just the beginning,” he said when contacted by Bernama today.
Jonathan won the gold medal in the men’s individual 10m Air Pistol event at the Olympic Shooting Qualifying Tournament in New Delhi, India, recently.
Although his name is not on the list under the Podium Programme, Jonathan was confident that the training programme which will be provided by the National Sports Council (NSC) will be of high standards. – BERNAMA
