Two days of fierce competition against a moon-like backdrop truly tested the riders from 12 different countries, including Germany, Russia, Great Britain, Spain and The Netherlands. Only 500 of these 700 athletes made it throughSaturday’s qualifications.
Sunday’s main race took place around a 21-kilometre long lap including motocross, enduro cross and extreme enduro. Favourite Jonny Walker had Joakim Ljunggren breathing down his neck at all time but managed to wrap the course in 1:41:06h.
“The course was very technically demanding. I’m glad I could take part in the event once again. I’m happy I won,” said Walker, a runner-up in last year’s first edition.
