The Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) have yet to receive Mohd Azraai Khor Abdullah’s resignation as head coach of the Kelantan football team.
“I can only comment on the matter after receiving Azraai Khor’s letter,” said KAFA general-secretary Datuk Ismail Md Noor when contacted by Bernama.
Media reports said that Azraai Khor, 62, had resigned as head coach of Kelantan.
Azraai Khor had blamed his resignation on alleged interference by ‘invisible hands’ who complicated his job as the head coach of Kelantan.
Asked who will be the new Kelantan head coach if Azraai Khor has really resigned, Ismail said it would be determined by the KAFA management.
“If really he has resigned, we respect his decision. He may feel responsible for the poor performance by the Kelantan squad,” said Ismail.
Azraai Khor was appointed as Kelantan head coach to replace Dutchman George Boateng on March 24.
Under Azraai Khor, Kelantan recorded three wins, two draws and seven defeats from 12 matches in the Super League and the FA Cup competitions this year.
He led Kelantan to the FA Cup final this year but they were beaten 3-1 by Lions XII from Singapore. – BERNAMA
