Highly-rated Black Steel Futsal Club custodian Muhammad Albagir said confidence will be key when they take on Chonburi Bluewave in the AFF Futsal Cup 2019 later this month.
Black Steel have been placed in a tough Group A Chonburi Bluewave from Thailand and also Sanvinest Sanatech Khanh Hoa from Vietnam.
Chonburi have won the AFC Futsal Club Championship crown twice in 2013 and also 2017 where they were also awarded the AFC Futsal Club of the Year in 2013.
Sanvinest Sanatech Khanh Hoa are one of the top Futsal club in Vietnam.
“The key will be confidence and that is what we must have when we play against Chonburi Bluewave. They are the best Futsal team in Thailand,” said Albagir.
“We have played Chonburi (in friendlies) before. So we should know their strengths and also weaknesses.”
Other than having played test matches in 2018 against Chonburi Bluewave, Black Steel have also forged a partnership with the Thai side in as far as getting players on loan for their Indonesian Futsal League campaign.
The AFF Futsal Cup 2019 will be played in Nakhon Racthasima, Thailand on 18-23 June.
Teams in Group B are Myanmar imperial University FC from Myanmar, Down Town Sport from Cambodia and Melaka United Soccer Association from Malaysia.
