New Zealand’s Jesse Sergent has signed for AG2R from next season, the French team said on Monday.
The 27-year-old Olympic team pursuit bronze medallist has signed a two-year deal and will leave Trek, where he signed his first professional contract in 2011, at the end of this season.
“I hope to keep progressing and aiming for time-trials and week-long stage races,” said Sergent, a four-time world championship medallist on the track.
His best results on the road have come in relatively minor races such as the Three Days of West Flanders and the Tour of Poitou-Charente in 2011.
He also won a stage of the Tour of Austria in 2014. –Â Agence France-Presse
