In keeping up with the intention of boosting tennis interests in the state capital KK Bugggggzzzs team had a friendly with Kinabalu Golf Club.

KGC hosted the friendly at 2 venues due to the unpredictable weather.

After the matches the players were treated to high tea at the KGC tennis courts premise.

Captaining the KGC team is Tony Wong while Azely Jumatli captained the KK Bugggzzzs team.

The matches were very intense and both sides were very friendly but not in the game. Both sides have district, state players and veteran as well as ladies players.

A total of 7 matches were played. The outcome is KGC won by one match.

The friendly was also taken advantage of as one of the player from Japan is going back for good after serving 2 years in KK as a volunteer. Tommamashi Toru is young and a talented player as well.

The group will miss him, but he invited Sabah players to visit him and of course play matches in Tokyo.

STA President Johnson Koh is the main mover of the social tennis group, congratulated KGC and hope these friendlies  will continue to boost tennis interest among all tennis players from various clubs in the state capital.

The group did make a trip to Sandakan for friendlies with SDTA and Sandakan golf & country club last year and all enjoyed the trip because of tennis, food and visiting our “brothers and sisters” in Sepilok and Labuk Bay.

With these in mind more friendlies will be forecasted this year.
