Kota Kinabalu made a clean sweep of both the boys and girls titles in the Inter-Affiliate Junior Tennis Tournament which ended in Sandakan last week.
The KK boys team topped the three-team round robin league with 3-0 wins over Sandakan and Tawau while Sandakan edged Tawau 2-1 to take second spot.
It was a four-team round robin league in the girls and Kota Kinabalu swept the title with an unbeaten record – defeating Sandakan and Lahad Datu by 2-1 margins before completing a 3-0 whitewash of Tawau.
Lahad Datu surprised Sandakan and Tawau by 3-0 margins to take second place while Tawau edged Sandakan 2-1 for third place.
Datuk Charlie Pang, the State Assemblyman for Karamunting gave away the trophies to the winners at the Sandakan District Tennis Association club house – witnessed by SDTA president Fernando Rulloda and others officials.
