The Ministry of Youth and Sports Khairy Jamaluddin in his facebook account said the decision to revert the original date was a joint decision of the ministry, Standard Chartered, Dirigo Events and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
“I have personally been reading a lot of comments about the marathon and have held many discussions with the organisers and other stakeholders.
“We have jointly come to the conclusion that the Standard Chartered KL Marathon will be reverted back to Oct 4, considering the many issues that have been raised,” Khairy said in a statement posted on his Facebook account Thursday.
Khairy apologised for the inconvenience caused by the earlier change in date and hoped that Malaysians would also come forward to support the National Sports Day that will be held on Oct 10.
On Monday, Khairy announced that the KL Marathon would be pushed to Oct 10 as a flagship event for the inaugural National Sports Day. – BERNAMA
