THE 29th SEA Games and 9th ASEAN Para Games accounts will be audited and closed one year after the completion of the 2017 Kuala Lumpur Games, Dato Seri Zolkples Embong, Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysia Organising Committee (MASOC) Kuala Lumpur 2017 Secretariat, said today.

MASOC will ensure transparency in the organisation of the Games including working hand in hand with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to avoid and check any elements of mismanagement or corruption.

Dato Seri Zolkples gave his assurance that the Kuala Lumpur 2017 accounts will be completed in the specified time.

“We want to ensure that the KL2017 Games is free from any form of corruption elements or mismanagement, especially in matters related to finance and funds,” said Dato Seri Zolkples.

“We’re clearly and will always be transparent in our conduct especially in managing our finances. I’ve made it clear and have promised YB Minister Brig Gen Khairy Jamaluddin, that we will complete all crucial matters, including our financial statement, equipment, facilities, inventories a year after the completion of the Games,” he said. 

Dato Seri Zolkples told this at MASOC’s Monthly Assembly and Integrity Oath pledge by officers and staff of the Secretariat in Bukit Jalil, Wednesday (5 Apr 2017).

MASOC Chief Operating Officer, En Shaiful Subhan led the reading of the integrity pledge in the presence of Dato Seri Zolkples and MACC Deputy Chief Commisioner (Prevention) Dato’ Shamshun Baharin and En Asdi Zainuddin from Ministry of Youth and Sports Integrity Division.

Dato Seri Zolkples added that he had also contacted the former Auditor -General to ensure that the auditing process of the 2017 Games is conducted regularly.  

The Integrity Oath pledge is among MASOC’s initiatives to ensure transparency amongst its officers and staff in carrying their duties leading up to the Kuala Lumpur 2017 Games.

The 2017 SEA Games, which returns to Malaysia after a lapse of 16 years, starts from 19-31 August while the ASEAN Para games, the third to be hosted in Kuala Lumpur, is scheduled from 17-23 Sept.

MASOC SASAR LENGKAP LAPORAN AUDIT KL2017 DALAM TEMPOH SETAHUN

JAWATANKUASA Pengelola Malaysia (MASOC) Kuala Lumpur 2017 mensasarkan tempoh setahun bagi melengkapkan laporan audit dan menutup akaun pengendalian Sukan SEA ke-29 dan Sukan Para ASEAN ke-9 Kuala Lumpur 2017, kata Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Sekretariat,  Dato’ Seri Zolkples Embong hari ini.

MASOC akan memastikan ketelusan sepanjang persedian dan penganjuran KL2017 dan bertegas menyatakan bahawa tiada ruang bagi mana-mana pihak yang cuba mengambil kesempatan meraih kepentingan peribadi sempena penganjuran temasya dwi tahunan itu.

Bagi membuktikan keseriusannya, MASOC, menurut Dato’ Seri Zolkples, akan sentiasa bekerjasama dengan Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) bagi memastikan ketelusan dan tiada sebarang unsur rasuah dan penyalahgunaan kuasa dan pengurusan.

Lantaran itu, Dato’ Seri Zolkples memberi jaminan bahawa laporan kewangan Sukan SEA dan Sukan Para ASEAN 2017 akan diselesaikan mengikut tempoh yang telah ditetapkan.

“Kita mahu pastikan penganjuran Kuala Lumpur 2017 bebas daripada pelanggaran tatacara terutama dari segi kewangan, perolehan dan sebagainya.

Kita sentiasa telus dalam semua tindakan terutama aspek kewangan  supaya selepas selesai penganjuran, seperti janji saya kepada saya Yang Berhormat Menteri, segala urusan penting seperti laporan penyata kewangan, peralatan, kemudahan dari segi hapus kira, inventori dan sebagainya dapat diselesaikan dalam tempoh setahun selepas berakhir temasya,” kata beliau.

Dato’ Seri Zolkples hadir pada Majlis Perhimpunan Bulanan Sekretariat MASOC dan Bacaan Ikrar Integriti Pegawai di Sekretariat MASOC di Bukit Jalil pada Rabu (5 April 2017).

Lafaz ikrar pegawai Sekretariat MASOC diketuai Ketua Pegawai Operasi MASOC, En Shaiful Subhan dan disaksikan oleh Dato Seri Zolkples, Timbalan Ketua Pesuruhjaya (Pencegahan) SPRM Dato’ Shamshun Baharin dan wakil daripada Bahagian Integriti Kementerian Belia dan Sukan, Asdi Zainuddin.

Dato Seri Zolkples berkata beliau telah pun menghubungi bekas Ketua Audit Negara untuk memastikan proses audit dilakukan sepanjang masa dan tidak menggunakan kaedah lazim iaitu menjalankan proses audit hanya selepas kesemua akuan ditutup.

Majlis Bacaan Ikrar itu merupakan inisiatif Sekretariat MASOC untuk memastikan pegawai dan kakitangan sentiasa telus dan menjalankan tugas penganjuran dengan penuh rasa tanggungjawab dan integriti.
