LESS than 20 days away before the start of the 29th SEA Games, Kuala Lumpur is all ready to play host to thousand?s of athletes from 11 contingents who are expected to flock into the city from 11 August onwards.
City folks expressed excitement over the hosting of the Games after a lapse of 16 years, with mostly saying that they look forward to be involved and experience the excitement.
More than 8,000 athletes, officials and guests from all 11 participating nations will start arriving in Kuala Lumpur in two week’s time. Apart from Kuala Lumpur, fans in Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Terengganu and Langkawi will also have the opportunity to ?feel and experience the excitement of the Games.
Around the city, KL City Hall, which have put in charge of food, accommodation and urban beautification for the Games, has embarked on concerted efforts to enliven the city?.?
?This includes beautifying specific areas such as roundabouts, ?popular tourist spots, planting tropical flowers, building gateways and signboards.
The presence of RIMAU at many of the strategic strategic entries to the city and main transportation hub KL Sentral has also fueled the excitement and hype amongst the local and foreign sporting fans.
Living up to the true spirit of “Rising Together, city folks and fans are coming together as one to ensure that the Games will be remembered as the best ever, as well as projecting the Malaysia Boleh spirit.
With 38 sports and 404 events to be contested, fans are in for an exciting two-week sporting treat where some of the region’s world-class athletes will be in action.
