Defending champions Lao Toyota FC inched closer to their third Lao Premier League title in three years when they opened up a six point lead at the top of the standings going into the final stretch.
Their 2-0 win over Evo United this week allowed Lao Toyota to pick up 25 points from 10 matches played off the league’s top score Kazuo Homma in the 16th minute and then Victor Goncalves Amaro nine minutes to the end.
Nearest challenger Young Elephants failed to keep up the pressure at the top when they stumbled to a 2-1 loss to Master 7 FC off a a brace from Bounthavy Sipasong in the 75th and 89th minute for the latter.
Young Elephants’ only goal of the game came off Bounphachan Bounkong in the 78th minute.
Elsewhere, Lao Police were held to a 1-1 draw by Lao Army.
