Three ASEAN nations – Laos, Vietnam and Thailand – will do battle at the AFC Beach Soccer Championship 2015 as they vie for the only three places available to this year’s FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Portugal.
The AFC Beach Soccer Championship 2015 will be played at the Kotara Beach in Qatar.
Laos, the AFF Beach Soccer 2014 semi-finalists, have been placed alongside hosts Qatar in Group A where they also have Oman and Bahrain for company.
Vietnam, the runners-up at the AFF Beach Soccer 2014, will take on Japan, who finished fourth at the 2000 and 2005 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups, in Group against China and Kuwait.
On the other hand Thailand, will be up against Iran, the highest ranked Asian team by FIFA, and Lebanon in Group D. Iran are scheduled to begin their campaign against the Lebanese.
Only the champion, runners-up and the third-placed team will earn places for July’s FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Portugal.
