Liga Hoki Johor bakal mencipta sejarah sebagai liga hoki negeri pertama ditayangkan secara langsung menerusi RTM.
Liga Super iaitu bagi kategori terbuka lelaki itu akan diadakan jam 3.45 petang di Stadium Hoki Taman Daya, Johor Bahru, 3 November ini dan bakal ditayang langsung menerusi TV1.
Setiausaha Kehormat Persatuan Hoki Johor (PHJ) Shahabuddin Royani berkaya, selain perlawanan Liga Super, perlawanan akhir Divisyen 1 juga akan berlangsung pada hari sama pada jam 3 petang di padang dua Taman Daya.
“Bagi Divisyen satu, perlawanan akbir ini juga bakal menjadi medan memilih pemain untuk diserapkan bersama pemain berusia 17 tahun dalam Projek Johor 2020. Pada tagun terbabit, Johor akan menjadi tuan rumah Sukan Malaysia (Sukma).
“Perlawanan akhir Divisyen 1 membabitkan SSTMI Thunderbolt dengan Bentara Johor,” kata Shahabuddin.
Katanya, pemain yang terpilih juga akan diberi olpendedahan bermain di Liga Hoki Malaysia (LHM) bermula Januari depan.
Beliau berkata, saingan sengit dijangka berlaku apabila SSTMI Thunderbolt bertemu PSKPP Batu Pahat di final Liga Super.
“Ini adalah kemuncak kepada saingan Liga Hoki Johor 2016 bagi merebut Piala TNB Liga Hoki Johor.
“SSTMI Thunderbolt adalah juara bertahan,” katanya.
Menurutnya, sempena perlawanan akhir itu, TNB selaku penganjur dijangka menyediakan pelbagai aktiviti interaktif bersama pengunjung.
Beliau berkata, juara Liga Super membawa pulang hadiah wang tunai RM7,000 manakala naib juara RM5,000.
Sementara juara dan naib juara Divisyen 1 membawa pulang RM2,000 dan RM1,500.
JOHOR LEAGUE HIT MILESTONE
The Johor Hockey League is set to make history of being the first state run league to be televised live on RTM.
The Super League, the men’s open category, will take place at 3.45pm on November 3 at the Taman Daya Stadium. The match will be televised on TV1.
Johor Hockey Association honorary secretary Shahabuddin Royani said, apart from the Super League match, the Division 1 final takes place at 3pm on pitch 2 at the stadium
“The Division 1 final is set to be a stage for us to pick under-17 players for the Johor Project 2020 squad. Johor will host the Malaysian Games (Sukma) in 2020.
“The final is between SSTMI Thunderbolt and Bentara Johor,” said Shahabuddin
Shahabuddin, who expects a close encounter between the two teams, said those selected will also compete in the Malaysian Hockey League starting next January.
“This is the finale for the teams to clinch the TNB Johor League Cup. SSTMI are defending champions,” he said.
TNB are expected to organise side activities to attract a crowd. With the Sultan of Johor Cup also taking place, there couldn’t be a better time to hold the state finale.
The Super League winners will get RM7,000 while the runners-up collects RM5,000. The Division 1 winners and runners-up take home RM2,000 and RM1,500 respectively.
