* It is a big breakthrough for us
* We still have a lot to learn
They started playing badminton at the age of seven and the Luo twins – Luo Ying and Lu Yu – from China were tried out with different partners by their coach but it simply did not work.
And they took up badminton because their coach felt that as twins they will “do better in the sport instead of playing other sports like basketball or volleyball.
“We have no greats since we took up badminton. After winning our first super series title we are very emotional. It is a big breakthrough in our badminton career but we still have a lot to learn,” said Luo Ying at the post match press conference.
“The first set was a very close affair as we were playing the Koreans for the first time. But once we got into the rhythm and found the flow it was smooth sailing in the second set.”
The Luo sisters are skipping the Singapore Open but will compete in the Asian Championships in Wuhan, China from April 21-26.
