The FIA GT World Cup grid is set to be powered by 100% sustainable fuel for the first time during this November’s seventh running of the world’s most prestigious sprint race for GT3 machinery, which will co-headline the Macau Grand Prix this year along with the new FIA Formula Regional World Cup.
In line with the FIA GT Commission-developed fuel roadmap and through partnerships with ETS Racing Fuels, the FIA GT World Cup competitors relied on 50% sustainable fuel in the 2023 edition of the event, which marked the return of FIA racing to the streets of Macau for the first time since 2019.
The 50% sustainable drop-in solution was adopted as the first step of the transition towards sustainable power sources last year, allowing for the seamless implementation of the fuel by the competitors amid a rather short timeframe.
This year, the FIA’s most prestigious GT3 competition has reached another notable environmental milestone, with all 23 cars from six different GT3 manufacturers set to battle it out for the FIA GT World Cup powered by 100% sustainable fuel from the Renewablaze line by ETS Racing Fuels.
The fuel, made from second-generation bio-components sourced from bio-waste, requires only minor engine mapping adjustments and has been thoroughly tested by GT3 manufacturers in preparation for this year’s FIA GT World Cup.
Earlier this year, ETS Racing Fuels was awarded the FIA Three-Star Environmental Accreditation, the highest level of environmental sustainability recognition from the governing body of world motor sport.
The 2024 FIA GT World Cup, along with the Macau GP co-headlining FIA FR World Cup, will benefit from extensive live streaming via the FIA’s official YouTube channel. – www.fia.com
