Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane insists his side are more than capable of overcoming a 2-0 first leg deficit against Wolfsburg on Tuesday to seal a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Madrid swept aside Basque minnows Eibar 4-0 on Saturday to close to within four points of Barcelona at the top of La Liga, ahead of the European champions trip to Real Sociedad later in the day.
Zidane made eight changes from the side that started in the first leg against Wolfsburg in midweek with the likes of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric rested.
However, Madrid still scored four or more for the seventh time in nine home games under Zidane with James Rodriguez, Lucas Vazquez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Jese all netting before half-time.
“We know we are going to have an exciting game, a great game to play, but we also know the difficulty in overcoming a two-goal deficit,” said Zidane.
“We are capable of anything, we have been capable of doing this less well this season, but we are also capable of doing great things.
“We aren’t going to talk too much about tactics. We need to be really up for it and repeat the way we played today and like we usually have at home this season.” –Â Agence France-Presse
