Leaders Malacca United came off 4-3 winners after being a goal down in the first minute against Kuantan FA in Monday’s 100PLUS Premier League match at the Darulmakmur Stadium in Kuantan.

The win saw Malacca under coach Mat Zan Aris maintain their place at the top in the 12-team league with 36 points after 15 matches – five more than second placed JDT II who suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Perlis in Kangar.

Selangor club side PKNS FC were held to a scoreless draw against Negri Sembilan at their new home venue Shah Alam Stadium. The stalemate left PKNS in third place with 30 points.

There was also no change in fourth place with Kuala Lumpur on 28 points after a shock 1-0 defeat to DRB Hicom at the Proton Stadium in Tanjung Malim.

Malacca were a goal down in the first minute with Kuantan’s Shazalee Ramlee on target. The visitors made it all square after 27 minutes through skipper Illija Spasojevic – only to see the homesters back in front three minute later through Dao Bakary.

Malacca leveled the score once again with a goal by Tudoso Alexandru in the 35th minute but Shazalee completed his brace after 37 minutes for a 3-2 lead. The goal woke Malacca up from their slumber and it changed the scenario of the match.

Chile-born Palestine international Yashir Pinto made it 3-3 on the night with a 46th minute goal before Tudoso got his name into the scoresheet for the winner in the 89th minute.

The afternoon Perlis-JDT II match was hotly contested with both sides losing a player each. JDT’s Amer Saidin was given the sack after 73 minutes for a crude tackle on Park Young-jun after Mohamadou Sumareh gave the Northern Lions the lead in the 57th minute.

The Gambian was also sent off for an early shower later for a rough tackle on JDT’s Shahrul Akmal.

City Boys Kuala Lumpur were expected to come off with points against DRB Hicom in another afternoon match at the Proton Stadium in Tanjung Malim. However, KL were packed off by the homesters with a 1-0 win. Korean Kim Jin-ryong scored the winner in the 35th minute.

Sabah struck twice in a spate of three minutes in the 75th minute to defeat Sime Darby at the Selayang Stadium. Mateo Roskam gave the plantation giant the lead in the 17th minute but Sabah scored through Maxisius Musa (75th) and Leopold Alfonso (78th) for a 2-1 win.

The defeat plunged Sime Darby to the bottom of the table with only seven points after Armed Forces came off 3-1 winners against UiTM FC at the Temerloh Stadium in another afternoon encounter.

The soldiers got their goals through Khasan Abdukarimov (40th and 65th) and Faiz Inrahim (83rd) while Nik Syafiq Syazwan got UiTM FC’s consolation in the 31st minute. Armed Forces have eight points.
