The AFC Disciplinary Committee has fined the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) a total of USD 24,000 as a result of a pitch invasion by spectators after the AFC U-19 Championship quarter-final match on 17 October, between Myanmar and United Arab Emirates at the Youth Training Centre, Yangon, Myanmar.
The AFC Disciplinary Committee has found the MFF accountable for several violations of the AFC Disciplinary Code and the AFC U-19 Championship 2014 Regulations, including failure to guarantee law and order as well as safety at the venue, improper conduct by spectators and repeated infringements of the Code.
The AFC Disciplinary Committee has also ordered MFF to play their next representative team match without spectators, with the order being suspended for a probationary period of two years.
The MFF has been strongly advised by the AFC Disciplinary Committee to take all action necessary to control their spectators in future matches, including the Semi Final match on 20 October 2014.
The MFFwas also warned that any further crowd misconduct by their supporters will lead to the automatic revocation of the suspended sanction of playing a match without spectators, and the sanction shall be applied and shall be in addition to a more severe sanction pronounced for the new infringement.Â
In effect, should Myanmar qualify for the Final, the match will be played without spectators should further crowd misconduct occur in the Semi Final.
