The Malaysian Football League has considered the appeals by the 10 teams who were slapped hefty fines for missing the deadlines for registration of their respective teams for the 2018 Malaysian League.

However, all the affected teams – four from the Super League and six from their sescond tier Premier League – have been issued a stern and firm warning that there won’t be a second chance if they repeat the offence again in future.
The four teams from the Super League  are Selangor, Kelantan, Kuala Lumpur and PKNS FC while Penang, Sarawak, Police, MISC MIFA, UKM FC and Kuantan FA ply their trade in the Premier League.
Selangor and PKNS were late in submitting their documents while Kelantan and K. Lumpur submitted incomplete documents. Sarawak, Penang, Kuantan FA and Police were no better in submitting incomplete documents. UKM FC and MISC MIFA missed the deadline thrice.
MLF chief executive officer Kevin Ramalingam said the four Super League teams had their fines of RM1.5 million reduced to RM500k while the Premier League will now pay only RM200k from their original amount of RM500k.
According to Ramalingam, in his statement posted on the MFL Facebook on Monday,
Brigadier General Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, the chairman of MFL, wants the teams “a chance to do better” in future.

“They (the teams) are reminded that it is a serious matter and hefty fines will be imposed in future if they make the same mistakes again,” said Ramalingam. – BY RIZAL ABDULLAH
