Two defeats in one week has left Indonesian national coach Luis Milla well disappointed as he continues to look for the winning formula.
In the two matches played against the Syrian Under-23 team at the Wibawa Mukti Stadium in Cikarang, the Indonesian U23 side fell to a 3-2 loss before the senior Indonesian side collapsed to a 1-0 defeat.
“Syria are a class act. And you can see that they are well prepared for the U23 Asian Cup (in January),” said Milla.
“The Syrian U23 team has been playing together for quite some time. And this was obvious in the way they played. There’s harmony and also good combination play.
“The Indonesian U23 team also played well as afterall they have also been playing together for the last ten months. For the national tea, we struggled a little bit as we had only been playing together just the day before.
“From here, I can tell who we can use for the future and whom we cannot.”
