Selepas tamat tempoh rayuan semalam (31 Mac), kita menerima rayuan 114 acara membabitkan kategori lelaki manakala 100 lagi bagi kategori wanita selain lapan acara kategori campuran.

Following the deadline for appeals yesterday, the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) has confirmed that they have received the appeals of up to 41 sports to be included at the next SEA Games in 2017 which will be hosted by Malaysia.

Datuk Low Beng Choo, the honorary secretary of the OCM said that the appeals were made through the respective Olympic Councils of the various countries under the SEA Games Federation (SEAGF).

“The appeals we received were for 41 sports. But some did not indicate which event they want to be included in the Games,” said Beng Choo.

“Following the expiration of the deadline (31 March), we have received appeals for 114 events for the men’s event and a further 100 events for the women. Plus a further eight mixed events, the total number of events which have been put up for appeal is 222,” added Beng Choo.

At the last SEAGF meeting on 24 February, it was agreed that an initial list of 34 sports for 342 events will be competed. However, an appeal can still be put in until March.

SEAGF will finalized the number of sports and events to be competed at the SEA Games Kuala Lumpur 2017 at their next meeting on 13-14 July this year.
