THE Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) have signed veteran Radojko Avramovic as their new chief coach.
The 64-year-old Serbian has signed a contract for a year and a half, which will see him through the next SEA Games that will ironically be hosted by his home for ten years, Singapore, in mid-2015.
Avramovic was the island nation’s national team coach for ten years from 2003-2013.
In those ten years, he led them to three AFF Football Championships titles (2004, 2007 & 2012).
Known for his playing days with English club Notts County, the strict disciplinarian has also coached Kuwait’s youth and senior teams.
Avramovic’s first big assignment will be to handle the Burmese team for the AFF Suzuki Cup qualifiers later this year.
