* Perak remain unbeaten after 2-0 win over Armed Forces

* Crocs make mincemeat of Turtles in Kuching

* Selangor hold Pahang 1-1

Newly promoted Police put their 5-3 thrashing at the hands of Lions XII last week aside with a stunning 1-0 win over defending Super League champions Johor Darul Takzim at the Shah Alam Stadium on Saturday.

Gambian hot-shot Mohamadou Sumareh, who played a big role for Police in winning the Premier League title last year, scored a gem of goal on 77 minutes for the winner which struck the inside of the post before going in to hand the Southern Tigers a demoralising defeat.

It had been a bad week for JDT who were beaten 3-0 by Thailand champions Bangkok Glass in a AFC Champions League second round qualifier in Bangkok last Tuesday.

The star-studded JDT kicked off their Super League campaign with a 2-0 win over Pahang in the Charity Shield match played at the Larkin Stadium on Jan 31. The match also counted towards league points.

Perak are on the top of the table with maximum points from two matches. On Saturday the young Perak side ran out 2-0 winners over injury-hit Armed Forces at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi – giving coach Datuk M. Karathu plenty to smile. In their first match played in Ipoh, Perak defeated Sime Darby.

Against Armed Forces, Perak scored through skipper Nasir Basharuddin (24th) before Nurridzuan Abu Hassan got the second on 53 minutes via a beautifully executed freekick that beat goalkeeper Syed Adney all the way. The soldiers lost to Kelantan by the same scoreline at the same venue in their first match.

Pahang and Selangor shared the spoils at the Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan with a 1-1 draw which also saw Pahang’s Hafiz Kamal getting the marching orders in injury time for a second bookable offence. Matias Conti gave Pahang the lead on 59 minutes but Selangor were on equal terms five minutes later through nippy Andik Vermansyah.

Felda United gave a polished display at the Selayang Stadium with a convincing 3-0 win over Sime Darby in the battle of the plantation giants. Two goals in a spate of three minutes with Ahmad Syamim Yahya (12th minute) and Ndumba Makeche (15th) gave Felda a dream start. However, Felda failed to capitalise on this and had to wait till the 77th minute for the third goal which came from skipper Shukor Adan.

At the State Stadium in Kuching the hungry Crocs swallowed the Turtle with two quick goals in the opening six minutes. Billy Mehmet opened scoring after four minutes and two minutes later Ashri Chuchu made it 2-0 from a Joseph Kallang Tie cross.

The homesters than took their foot off the pedal and allowed Paulo Rangel to reduce the deficit in the 14th minute but skipper Kallang Tie settled the issue in the first half itself with Sarawak’s third goal in the 40th minute leaving coach Robert Alberts a pleased man.
