It was a night to savour for Perak, Terengganu and Kuala Lumpur as they registered wins over Negri Sembilan, PKNP (Perak SEDC) and Melaka United in Saturday’s Super League matches.
 
Perak, who were held to a 1-1 draw in mid-week by N. Sembilan in Paroi ran out 2-0 winners over their opponents at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh with goals by Brendan Gan (55th) and Leandro Da Silva (84th ).
 
N. Sembilan escaped a bigger defeat but thanks to their goalkeeper Ilham Amirullah, who despite conceding two, gave a good account of himself.
 
Terengganu also tasted sweet revenge in their 2-1 win over Perak club side PKNP at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in Kuala Terengganu. PKNP defeated the Turtles 2-1 in Ipoh last Tuesday.
 
Skipper Kipre Tchetche was once again the architect of Terengganu’s win. He opened scoring for his team with a well-executed header from a Lee Dong-hyun cross on the left.
 
England-born Lee Tuck got the second for Terengganu and this come on 70 minutes when he chested home a looping ball which came off a PKNP defender from an Ashaari Samsuddin attempt.
 
PKNP reduced the deficit in the 78th minute but Terengganu held on for full points and fifth-place in the 12-team league with 24 points after 15 matches.
 
At the Hang Jebat Stadium in Melaka, K. Lumpur took full advantage of Melaka United’s mistakes for a 4-2win. Melaka defeated KL 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller at the KLFA Stadium in Cheras in mid-week.
 
Former international Indra Putra Mahayuddin scored a brace for KL while Zaquan Adha Abdul Radzak and Guilherme de Paula scored one each. Melaka got their goals through new signing Ifedayo Olusegun.
 
Johor Darul Takzim leads the league standings with 35 points after 14 matches followed by Perak on 27 with Pahang, Kedah and Terengganu on 24. – BY RIZAL ABDULLAH
