A late confirmation by Perlis in the National Veterans Hockey Tournament in Johor Bahru from Dec 7-10 – has brought the total number of teams participating to nine.
Those who confirmed their entries when it closed on Friday were last year’s joint champions Pahang and Terengganu and third placed Armed Forces.
The other teams are Negri Sembilan (fourth last year), hosts Johor, Perak, Police and Selangor.
However, regulars like Kedah, Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Melaka are missing from this year’s meet.
It has thrown the format of the tournament into disarray. Will it be a two-group format or a three-group format.
Organising chairman A. Harbhajan Singh said the matter will be resolved before the team managers meeting on Dec 6 at the Johor Golf & Country Club. – BY RIZAL ABBDULLAH
