The Palestine Olympic Committee (POC) hosted the fourth edition of their School Olympic Week.
Proceedings began with an Opening Ceremony at the Arab American University-Jinin City Stadium where competing youngsters lit an Olympic Torch and took the Olympic Oath.
Various sports were then showcased across Palestinian cities, including athletics, judo, kung-fu, gymnastics and basketball.
Fifty-eight per cent of the children taking part were female, with university students and school instructors serving as volunteers.
They assisted physical education instructors and helped to arrange the activities and monitor the children.
According to the POC, the aim of the week is to integrate sport into children’s routine education.
They hope to develop Olympic sports within youngsters from an early age.
Palestine has competed at every edition of the Summer Olympics since Atlanta 1996 but has never won a medal.
