Paraguay have turned to record-breaking Argentine Ramon Diaz as their new coach, the country’sfootball federation said Thursday.
The 55-year-old is the most successful coach in the history of Argentine giants River Plate.
“We have several challenges: the Copa America (in Chile in 2015) and the World Cup in 2018,” said Diaz, who guided River to six Argentine titles and the 1996Copa Libertadores.
“We’re going to work hard in an organised manner to reach all our objectives.”
Diaz has also coached Argentine giants San Lorenzo and Independiente, as well as Mexicans America and somewhat curiously, and briefly, Oxford United in England. – Agence France-Presse
