Team PETRONAS AHM Malaysia is pleased to announce that Ramdan Rosli will compete in the hyper competitive Moto2 European Championship that runs concurrently with the FIM CEV Repsol International Championship this season.
The announcement was made ahead of the opening round at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimao, Portugal this 24-26 April that will spot two races.
This will be the first race for Ramdan astride a Moto2 machine having spent a year competing in the Moto3 class and the team is setting a stretch target of top 10 finishes for both races this weekend on the 4.692 kilometre circuit.
The PETRONAS Talent Development rider who has completed an encouraging first test earlier this month is currently working hard on building up his strength and fitness level as Moto2 requires a lot more physical endurance compared to Moto3.
A rigorous training schedule is in place and the same base of training will be employed throughout the year to ensure that he stays fit to deliver optimum performance.
“I am quite excited to start the 2015 season. The Moto2 bike is more suited to my riding style compared to Moto3. We did the test in Algarve earlier this month and everything is pointing towards the right direction. Can’t wait for the opening race to start and wish me luck!” said Ramdan.
Meanwhile Team PETRONAS AHM Malaysia manager, Kenny Chua said, “Climbing up to Moto2 will be a huge challenge for Ramdan. I am happy to note that things are working well and heading towards a good direction. He seems to be more committed in training and focus on giving his best. I am hoping for good results this weekend as I know that Ramdan is capable of delivering.”
The Moto2 European Championship will be featured at seven venues across the Spanish Peninsular with 11 races in total.
