PETRONAS Raceline Malaysia – Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah
FIM Motorcycle Road Racing World Championship
Round 2 Grand Premio Motul de la Republica Argentina Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit
Fresh from the opening round in Qatar, Hafizh is gunning for a strong finish at the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit in Argentina where Round 2 of the Moto2 World Championship takes place this weekend. The flowing layout suits Hafizh’s riding style very well and the team is looking at having a good setup early on when the practice session starts.
The PETRONAS Talent Development rider finished 20th in his Moto2 debut season (2014) and came in 10th on the 4.8 kilometre track last year.
Hafizh Syahrin, PETRONAS Raceline Malaysia Moto2 rider
I am quite comfortable riding here at the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit and I am looking to improve my lap time and overall position. I will need to get some rest after the long flight from Barcelona to Argentina and be ready to jump on the bike and immediately work on getting the best setup.
Barry Leong, PETRONAS Raceline Malaysia team manager
From the results shown in Qatar, everyone is expecting Hafizh to step-up here in Argentina. Indeed he is pumped and highly motivated to deliver but at the same time I am concerned with his right hand’s recovery. Prior to coming to Argentina, Hafizh did a few more physiotherapy sessions coupled with his regular gym sessions so generally he should be fine. We hope that the situation in Qatar (numbness towards the end of the race) will not repeat itself and we can bag better results.
