Both Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah and wildcard Mohd Ramdan Rosli showed constant improvements as Round 7 of the Moto2 World Championship proceeded at the Catalunya Circuit in Spain. More refinements were made to the bike to give Hafizh a better feeling and front end agility. Hafizh clocked 23rd fastest with 1’47.816s in Free Practice 3 after more fine tuning.
“Everything looks good for qualifying later today and I am feeling optimistic,” said Hafizh confidently.
“Hafizh improved on his best lap time compared to the Free Practice 1 and Free Practice 2. He seems relaxed and the team is working hard to give the best for him and make him more comfortable. Overall, I am happy with the way things are moving,” added Barry Leong, team principal of PETRONAS Raceline Malaysia.
Racing on the same grid, Ramdan has also kept improving and learning. The team was happy with his progress but would like to see and evaluate consistent laps while preparing for the qualifying and the race.
“Our objective for this wildcard was to see Ramdan improve with every session. I am satisfied with his results. From Free Practice 1 to Free Practice 3, he shaved three seconds off his lap times. We would like to see the momentum continue until the end of the race,” said Kenny Chua, Ramdan’s team manager.
