The Philippine’s friendlies next week have been moved to the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila instead of the previous venue of the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bulacan.
This is to ensure that the Philippine Sports Stadium be kept in pristine condition ahead of the Philippines’ hosting of the AFF Suzuki Cup in November this year.
The Philippines will take on Bahrain on 7 October before entertaining DPR Korea three days later.
“The transfer was done to make room for ongoing improvement works on the PSS’s natural grass field and ensure it would be in ‘optimum condition’ for the AFF Suzuki Cup group matches in November,” said Philippine Football Fedberation (PFF) general secretary Edwin Gastanes.
The Philippines will co-host the group stage of the AFF Suzuki Cup on 19-25 November.
They have also pencilled in a match against Kyrgyzstan on 9 November.
