# Terengganu stave off late Perak fightback for a 4-3 win in Ipoh
# Melaka surrender a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 with PKNS FC at home
# Selangor hammered again at Shah Alam
At the Perak Stadium in Ipoh Terengganu survived a late fightback by Perak to claim a dramatic 4-3 win to remain unbeaten in Group A while Melaka United let go a 3-0 lead and allowed PKNS FC to steal a point in the last five minutes with a 3-3 draw in a Group B match at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Melaka in Saturday’s Malaysia Cup matches.
Melaka was cruising to full points until the 87th minute with a brace by South Korean import Lee Chang Hoon who struck in the seventh and 79th minutes and one by Ifedayo Olesugun (70th).
However, all that changed for E. Elavarasan and his team when Romel Oswaldo reduced the deficit in the 87th minute. It was all PKNS needed to get back into the fight and two minutes later the visitors scored the second through Bruno Oliveira.
It was heartbreak for the Melaka and home fans when mid-season signing Khairul Fahmi Che Mat was beaten again – this time two minutes into injury time by Rafael Ramazotti for the equalizing goal and a share of the spoils.
With the stalemate, PKNS remained on top of Group B with four points with Melaka second also on four but separated by goal difference.
Terengganu, reduced to 10 players after Lee Tuck was red carded in the 71st minute, managed to hold on for their second full points as Perak came on fire in the last 10 minutes of play.
The Turtles grabbed the lead through former international Ashaari Samsudin when the “Silent Killer” scored after eight minutes. Lee Tuck converted a twice-taken penalty five minutes into added time in the first half to make 2-0 for Terengganu after skipper Kipre Tchetche’s spot kick in the 38th minute was saved by Perak custodian Hafizul Hakim.
There was more to come from Terengganu, 5-2 winners over Kuala Lumpur in their first match when Wan Ahmad Amirzafran scored on 57 minutes for a 3-0 lead before Lee Tuck was sent off for an early shower.
Despite the numerical disadvantage on the field, Terengganu got their fourth goal through Faiz Nasir and this woke Perak up from their slumber.
Two goals in three minutes by Wander Luiz (86th, 89th) lighted up the Perak Stadium. There was more drama when Leandro Dos Santos converted a penalty deep into injury time (95th) but Terengganu held out for full points to remain unbeaten in the group.
Returning to their home venue – Shah Alam Stadium has not brought Selangor any winning luck as the Red Giants slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Pahang. It was the second straight defeat for the 33-time Malaysia Cup champions who lost 3-0 to PKNP in the first match.
Muslim Ahmad and Norshahrul Idlan Talaha scored for the Elephants in the 30th and 54th minutes to take the FA Cup champions to the top of Group D with four points – sharing points with Premier League outfit Sabah.
Sabah stunned Super League’s PKNP (Perak SEDC) with an injury time goal by Rahman Shah Murajeh and the East Malaysian side is unbeaten after two matches after holding Pahang to a 1-1 draw in Kuantan in their opening match. RIZAL ABDULLAHÂ
