The JuniorGolf Tour of Asia (JGTA) is partnering with the Pondok Indah Organizing Committee on its longstanding milestone event, the2018 Pondok Indah International Junior Golf Championship. The tournament will take place December 18-20, 2018 at Pondok Indah Golf Course located in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The tournament will be a three-day, 54-hole stroke-play event, featuring Asia’s premier talent in junior golf.
The Pondok Indah International Junior Golf Championship is founded on the principle of serving young people and generating friendship among nations as well as promoting the popularity of the sport of golf in the junior sphere. For 3 years running, the committee has hosted the Indonesia Openon the Asian Tour Circuit.
Whilst the course was built for an acclaimed international professional golf tournament, it has becomeprominent for international amateur and junior golfers, most recently playing host to competition in the 2018 Asian Games.
Each year, the Pondok Indah International Junior Golf Championship draws elite junior golfers from all over the world and their nation. Last year in 2017, winners of the Boys and Girls A Divisions in the Pondok Indah International Junior Golf Championship included Jonathan Wijono of Indonesia and Natasha Andrea Oon of Malaysia.
This year for the first time the Pondok Indah International Junior Golf Championship 2018 will be a collaboration between the Pondok Indah Organizing committee and the JGTA.
The JGTA is the sanctioning body in Asia for American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Performance Based Entry (PBE) Status, and represents the series of tournaments throughout the region, where players can build their AJGA PBE Status through their final standing in the JGTA Junior Order of Merit, the Official Ranking of the JGTA.
This year marks the JGTA’s second season and the first time that the JGTA will co-sanction a junior event. The JGTA’s inaugural season featured three events, the JGTA Bintan Lagoon Junior Championship presented by dwell Student Living, the JGTA Taiwan Junior Championship, and the JGTA Phuket Junior Open.

Pondok Indah Golf Course, the host venue of the tournament, is a course praised for its beauty and unique design. This Robert Trent Jones Jr design has twice been the chosen venue for the Indonesian leg of the Benson & Hedges International Golf Series and was the final course on the Java/Bali circuit in 1979, the Eleutorio Nival of Philippines.
