Two Teams entered the QNET-Selangor Hockey League Division 2 Finals in contrasting styles in the rain delayed semifinals played in the National Hockey Stadium last night.
X-Hamzah faced a determined UKM side that took the game to them, with their fast counter attacking style. Played under wet conditions both sides has equal opportunities but the match ended in a goalless draw.
X-Hamzah keeper Mohammad Azrul Omar was the man of the match as the saved all three UKM penalty shoot while his team mates converted each their attempt to win the shootout 3-0
In another match played on the same venue, PAUiTM defeated Selayang 4-1 to qualify for the Finals. Mohd Saiful Hafiz grabbed a double on the 11th and 21st minute to give his side a 2-0 lead going into the half time.
In the 50th minute Umpire Ozair Omar awarded PAUiTM a stroke which Fahed Saifullah duly converted.
Team Captain Ikmal Abdul Jabbar ensured his team’s victory as they lead 4-0 thru his penalty corner conversion on the 68th minute. Selayang’s Hamizar Alias scored his team consolation goal on the 69th minutes for a final score of 4-1.
X-Hamzah will meet PAUiTM in the Finals to be played on Sunday November 1st at 5.00pm in Stadium Hoki Tun Abdul Razak. Selayang will face UKM for the 3rd and 4th placing match where the winner will grab the 3rd spot for the QNET Challenge Trophy.
