Following several weeks of speculation, it has now been confirmed that one of Indonesia’s foremost master tactician Rahmad Darmawan will coach Malaysia’s second-tier Premier League side T-Team in 2016.
Rahmad, who is more well known as RD, signed the contract late yesterday and where he will be with the east coast side on a two-year contract.
“The process was quite tedious and it is for this reason, that I could not reveal anything prior to the signing of the contract. There was still some uncertainty until I decided to train T-Team,” explained RD.
“I feel excited at the prospect of leading a team for promotion and it was for this reason, I decided to sign with T-Team.”
RD revealed that he had initially received two offers – from T-Team and also Terengganu FA which plays in the higher Malaysian Super League.
The Persija-Pelita boss first gained recognition when he led Persipura Jayapura to the Indonesian League champions in 2005.
With Sriwijaya FC, he led them to the doubles of the Indonesian League champions and also the Indonesia Cup for the 2007/2008 season.
