The Sabah Tennis Association (STA) have confirmed that Christian Didier and Nurshaneem Shamsuddin will lead their men and women’s teams respectively in this year’s SUKMA in Perak from 14-22 Sept 2018.
This was announced by STA president Johnson Koh after confirming that Sabah will compete in the tennis competition in Perak.
The rest of the team Sabah team will be selected from the Sabah Tennis junior tournament (2nd leg) which will be held in Tawau on 22-24 June after the dates were confirmed by Tawau District Tennis Association secretary Shameer A Rahman A Hamid.
The Tawau 2nd-leg will also serve as the selection ground for the year end Masters with the top eight spots making the grade.
“Those wishing to be selected to the SUKMA will have to compete in the junior-legs as the team will be picked solely on merit,” said Johnson.
“The only confirmation for SUKMA players are Christian Didier Chin for the boys team and Nurshaneem Shamsuddin in the girls team. The others will have to fight for their places in the team.”
