Swedish company Sail Racing International has been appointed as official clothing partner to the World Match Racing Tour. The Sail Racing team will develop new limited collections in partnership with the WMRT, both technical race gear designed to the requirements of the high-performance M32 catamaran as well as official WMRT merchandise for fans and shore crew.

We think that the WMRT is a great platform to build the best teams and the highest performing sailing athletes for the future of high speed sailing. Also, being a partner to the Tour in it’s expansion is of course good timing for us. We are steadily growing internationally but will now extend the reach to sailors and fans at destinations we haven’t before seen.”
Sail Racing International is focused on technical products for high-speed sailing. Since the previous partnership during the 2010-2012 seasons, the World Match Racing Tour has taken a bold step into high-performance racing through the introduction of the M32. This leap forwards in the match racing game means that sailors demand much more from their clothing and equipment.
Sail Racing test team member and WMRT skipper Torvar Mirsky adds, “The Tour is becoming ever more intense and physical, especially now that we are racing the M32. Clothing and equipment is a crucial part of our performance as sailors. Gone are the days where we barely move or grind, it’s turned from a chess match to fitness. We need clothes that keep us cool when we are maxing out our heart rate but also protect us from the elements. Impact padding, flexibility and stretch, lightweight, waterproof, breathability and more requirements we expect of our equipment. Sail Racing is leading the innovation and this is a great partnership with the World Match Racing Tour.”
This announcement marks the beginning of a 2-year partnership that will see the World Match Racing Tour visit new venues and attract new global markets. Robert Magnusson, CEO Aston Harald Sports who manage the WMRT, believes Sail Racing are the ideal partner for the Tour. “Through 2017 and beyond we will continue to develop and expand the WMRT, taking this exhilarating sport to new audiences around the globe. To achieve the high goals we set ourselves we require passionate and like minded partners to embark on this adventure with us, and are excited to announce today that Sail Racing International will take this journey with us.”
Together with the Tour, Sail Racing will develop merchandise collections over the next three years. These collections will soon be available at Sail Racing online store with shipping worldwide, and at several events during the seasons. In addition, Sail Racing will supply technical and shore side clothing to WMRT staff.
