Ukrainians YuliyaBeygelzimer and Olga Savchuk stormed into the BMW Malaysian Open 2015 doubles final after a convincing straight sets win over top seeds JurakDarija and KlaraKoukalova at the Royal Selangor Golf Club today.

The duo meets China’s Wang Yafan and Liang Chen in the final tomorrow. The Chinese pair defeated Chang Kai-Chen and ZhengSaisai yesterday and mistakenly thought they had met Beygelzimer and Sachuk in the past.

“No we have not played them before. It was another Ukrainian pair,” said Yuliya.

Savchuk, who’s last WTA doubles title came against a Chinese pair last November, added: “We are expecting a tough fight. All the Chinese pairs are the same yet different.”

“They play good tennis… especially in doubles. There are so many of them but they differ in their style of play. It’s hard to guess what to expect.”

Belgelzimer and Savchuk are used to partnering each other. The duo won the 2014 Katowice Open in Poland. Prior to the BMW Malaysian Open 2015, the duo were first round casualties at the Qatar Total Open in Doha last month.

“We can’t play together all the time due to different schedules but when possible, we partner each other,” said Savchuk.

“We know each other well and it’s relaxing too when a partnership has grown accustomed to one another. It gives me happy thoughts too.”

Beygelzimer said: “We have faith in each other… I know I can count on her and vice versa.”

The Ukrainians only took 50 minutes to dispose Darija and Koukolava 6-1, 6-1 but insisted it was by no means an easy tie. Yet, facing the top seed did not give the duo any goosebumps.

“I don’t think about seeding when on the court. At the end of the day it’s how you perform on the court.

“I was just hoping the skies did not break during the match. We were up 5-1 in the second set and it looked like it was going to pour. Thankfully it didn’t.

“Otherwise, we would have to stop and come back just for another point. It breaks momentum and psychically more demanding,” said Beygelzimer.
