The refurbished Shah Alam Stadium is expected to be ready for the Super League match between Selangor and Kedah on April 5.
Selangor football team manager Amirudin Shari said they were confident that the replacement the ‘cow grass’ pitch at a cost of RM200,000 would be completed by March 19.
“We are not just re-turfing the pitch but replacing the foundation and adding material to strengthen the roots of the grass,” he told reporters after visiting upgrading works at the stadium here today.
He said the flood lights at the Shah Alam Stadium that can accommodate 80,000 fans would also be upgraded from 1,200 Lux to 2,000 Lux. – BERNAMA
