Siti Zulaikha Azmi is just a step away from taking the Women’s Singles crown of the PETRONAS Malaysia International Series 2024 following her dominant win in the semifinals this afternoon.
The 18-year-old Siti Zulaikha once again showed her confidence to wrap things up in straight sets 21-15, 21-16 victory over Guo Xin Yi from China.
In the final tomorrow, Siti Zulaikha will take on another Chinese shuttler Luo Sheng Xuan, who had defeated compatriot Qiu Zi Ying 21-16, 21-17 in her semifinal tie.
In the meantime, Muhammad Faiq Haziq Masawi-Lok Hong Quan’s hope for a place in the finals of the Men’s Doubles was denied by Emanuel Randhy Febryto-Reza Dwicahya Purnama from Indonesia.
The top-seeded Malaysians fell short in the semifinals when they conceded a 21-18, 21-19 defeat to Emanuel-Reza.
