Malaysia confirmed their place in the Sudirman Cup world mixed team championships quarter-finals after 10-time champions China swept to a 5-0 win over India in the Group 1D match in Nanning, China on Wednesday.
 
This assured Malaysia second place in the group with China, the number two seeds, who had also beaten the Malaysians 5-0 on Sunday, topping the group. The top two teams in each group advance to the knockout stage.
 
Ninth seeds Malaysia had beaten eighth seeds India 3-2 in their second match.
